- Are you doing commissions? Not at this point in time. I'm not really planning on doing them any time soon.
- How long have you been drawing? About as long as I was able to hold a pencil - the only difference is that the drawings are more refined...and not on the walls.
- What do you use? For traditional art, I usually use colored pencils (My lineup currently consists of Prismacolor Premier, Progresso Koh-I-Noor woodless, Faber-Castell Polychromos, Blick Studio, Derwent Coloursoft, and Lyra Rembrandt Polycolor). I'm also experimenting with watercolor, ink, and graphite - I'll let you know how that goes. For digital art, I currently use Gimp and a Wacom Bamboo Splash pen tablet for digital drawing and coloring and Inkscape for vector art.
- What/Who are your influences? As far as visual art goes, I'm really into Alphonse Mucha and Shohei Otomo, as well as several manga artists, such as Shinichi Sakamoto and Takeshi Obata. Certain works of fiction, such as Edgar Allan Poe's short stories also influence both my visual art and writing. However, nothing beats having good references.
- How long does a piece take to do? Anywhere between a few days to a few weeks. It really depends on the size, the amount of detail, and the medium (or media) used for the piece.
- How do I find my style? First of all, you're asking the wrong person, because I don't really have a signature style (people tell me that I do, but I don't see it). Second of all, if you're really intent on having a signature style, you have to practice often and not be afraid to experiment. Third of all, you might already have one - when you're in your own head, it's tough to see it.
- Is that a self-portrait on your About page? Nope. I probably won't be making a self portrait until I'm more comfortable with how I look. For now, I just like having that vector portrait there.
